Child Safety Standards
Our commitment
Yappit is an anonymous social app for verified campus and organisation communities. We are committed to preventing, detecting, and removing CSAE and CSAM, and to reporting it to the appropriate authorities. These standards apply to everyone who uses Yappit.
What is prohibited
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — images, video, text, or links.
- Sexualisation of minors, including sexual comments, solicitation, or grooming.
- Attempts to obtain, share, or facilitate CSAM or contact with a minor for sexual purposes.
- Any content that endangers or exploits a child.
How we prevent and detect it
- Adults only. Yappit is intended for users aged 18 and over.
- Automated moderation. Posts and images are screened automatically before they are published; disallowed content is blocked.
- Reporting and blocking. Every post and user can be reported and blocked from within the app.
- Review. Reported content is reviewed and actioned, including removal and account termination.
How to report child safety concerns
If you see content or behaviour that may involve the sexual abuse or exploitation of a child:
- In the app: use the Report option on any post or user.
- By email: contact us at support.yappit@gmail.com with the subject "Child safety".
Reports are treated as urgent.
Our response and reporting to authorities
When we identify CSAM or credible CSAE, we remove the content, terminate the responsible account, preserve relevant records, and report to the appropriate authorities — including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or the relevant national and regional authorities as required by law. We comply with all applicable child safety laws in the regions where Yappit is available.
